EVENTS

When this space was birthed, what I envisioned was not only creating a space where everyone could afford the wellness treatments they deserve, but also a safe space to create community. I know how important it is to go through life with support of other human beings on this journey, and I hope that through our shared space you will find that. It is with this intention, that opportunities are given to gifted teachers and healers to share their magic with our community through a variety of different monthly events that provide everyone with unique paths to body, mind and soul wellness.

Winter solstice smoke limpia and sound bath with Amanda (Cozcacuauhtli Cihuati, Necklaced Eagle Woman, Curanderismo Practitioner, Cultural practitioner, Ceremonial Hairstylist and Creator of Keep Your Crown Right).

The past 7 1/2 years Amanda has been dedicated to holding space for BIPOC folks within the community, merging together healing modalities such as the power of touch, prayer & plant medicine alongside her love of hair and its energetic & spiritual properties.

SOMATIC MOVEMENT FOR SURVIVORS OF TRAUMA
winter workshop with Sasha

Although all classes at our sacred space are trauma sensitive, this workshop is created for survivors of trauma. My intention is for survivors to regain a sense of comfort and ease within ones body, mind, and spirit. The program allows for you to become reacquainted with your body and allows and facilitates a powerful transformation with the relationship with the body. Often after trauma, our bodies can sometimes feel like an enemy, like we are being held hostage in our bodies, disconnected from our bodies, and like our bodies are not our own. Through movement, we get our bodies back and my intention is that in time the body is no longer frozen, no longer a container of fear and tension, but in fact a powerful, highly intelligent and highly sensitive tool to move us both through and beyond the memory of the deepest pain. No physical adjustments will be made in this class. No questions asked about your trauma.

This workshop will take place on Sunday January 14th 7:00PM-8:00PM and will be a donation based event.

STRENGTH & MOBILITY
through calisthenics and a variety of different modalities
with Amanda

Amanda is passionate about physical fitness. She has combined all of her training background to create this weekly class that uses calisthenics and different modalities to strengthen the body, increase endurance, increase flexibility, increase mobility, and increase coordination. Calisthenics is a form of strength training that utilizes an individual's body weight as resistance to perform multi-joint, compound movements with little or no equipment. Amanda approaches her classes from a trauma sensitive mindset and is prepared to modify for all bodies and experience levels, from beginner to advanced athletes. This class can be used as a supplement for athletes in sports to maintain strength and mobility or can be used as a stand alone weekly class for beginners ready to embark on meeting their fitness goals.

You can bring your own yoga mat or borrow one of ours. All equipment provided by Our Sacred Space Riverside.

This class will meet every Monday 6:30pm-7:30pm beginning January. Registration for this class opens December 21st.
