As well as being popular with students who are recovering from illness or injury, restorative yoga is considered an ideal balance to hectic and stressful modern lifestyles. This practice calms the mind and nervous system, enabling you to turn inward and focus on the breath. In this practice the muscles relax deeply through the practice of stillness and gentle movements. Props are used extensively to support the body so you can hold poses for longer periods of time, allowing your muscles to relax deeply. Socks and sweatshirt recommended since you will not be warming up the body the way you would be in an active class.
